| the work gabriël is a complex research of the connection inside religion and media. the three religions who are always in conflict (christianity, islam and judaism) have a lot of resemblance in their writings. one of them is arch-angel gabriël. this versatile messenger plays a significant role in the holy bible, koran and tenach. all angels are often described as creatures of light. the gabriël I have made contains a white television (creature of light), on a stool with 3 legs (discord), the legs of the stool are standing on a white crochet (pride, zeal). the television shows a white stripe, on the screen of the television I have etched the word salvation. it is barely readable. the work gabriël is a metaphor for television and media. the telly that all of us intrigues is also a messenger of the media. |
